| Michelle Dwyer. I have always been interested in Art and Design;
since a very young age I’ve always known I would be an artist of some sort. Photography is my main
work but I find that I am inspired by people from all sorts of disciplines, perhaps even more so than
by other photographers. Some all time favourites are Alexander McQueen, Frida Kahlo, Banksy and David
Carson… among many! I admire the work of fashion photographer Mario Testino and I get a lot of
inspiration from fashion illustration. I also have a thing for Paris which is my favourite place in
the world.
From my interest in graphic design and photography combined, a big ambition of mine is to be able
to travel to Japan and see what sort of imagery I could create from the contrasting cultures. Also, I
love anything grungy, gothic and dramatic. Oh yes... that includes the British seaside!
I started my professional career with a big company where I took the position of Style Director and
won several ‘highly commended’ awards. I’ve seen my work in Debenhams and Boots stores
nationwide, which was really exciting.
Since 2007 I’ve worked for myself. I love working with people, which makes up most of my
portfolio, although I do always have my camera with me when I go anywhere interesting. I really enjoy
shooting for multi images and collages, whether it’s using different expressions from a baby or the
different angles and textures of a building.
I hope you enjoy my work. |
